Klaus Hagerup (born 1946 in Oslo) was a Norwegian author, playwright, director, translator and actor. He wrote novels for adults and young people as well as children’s books, and appeared in film and television productions. His notable works included The Girl Who Wanted to Save the Books, which was sold in 26 countries; The Last Act was his crime-fiction debut. In 2018, Hagerup received Norway’s Brage Prize.
