Klaus Dermutz

Klaus Dermutz, born in 1960 in Judenburg, Austria, studied theology, philosophy and sociology in Graz and Berlin. He received a doctorate in theology in 1992 with a dissertation on the Polish theatre director Tadeusz Kantor. He has written theatre monographs and books on theatre, art, football and literature. From 2001 to 2009, he co-edited the Edition Burgtheater series with Klaus Bachler. His publications include the conversation volume Die Kunst geht knapp nicht unter with Anselm Kiefer, the biography Ernst Happel – Genie und Grantler, and the novels Sepsis and Acht Leben.
