Kirsten Gleinig, born in 1970 in Osterode, studied German, art history and Romance languages and literatures in Göttingen and Aix-en-Provence. From 2002 onward, she worked freelance as an editor, translator and author, focusing on fiction, biographies, art, France and travel. Her translations into German include works by Georges Simenon, Laurence Tardieu, Gisèle Halimi and Amanda Sthers.
