Kieron Gillen

Kieron Gillen (born 1975) is a British comic-book writer and journalist. He began his career in music and video-game journalism, and his first comics appeared after the turn of the millennium. In 2006, he published the series “Phonogram” with Jamie McKelvie; the two later created “The Wicked + The Divine”. Gillen’s other independent works include “Die”, “Once & Future”, “Über”, “The Ludocrats” and “Peter Cannon: Thunderbolt”. For Marvel, he wrote stories for “X-Men”, “Thor”, “Iron Man”, “Young Avengers”, “Eternals”, “Star Wars”, “Darth Vader” and “Doctor Aphra”. He created the character Doctor Aphra. In 2019, Staffordshire University awarded him an honorary doctorate for his achievements as a comic-book writer and journalist.
