Kaspar Maase

Kaspar Maase (born 1946) is a German cultural scholar. He received his doctorate from Humboldt University of Berlin in 1971 and completed his habilitation in cultural studies at the University of Bremen in 1992. He worked at the universities of Tübingen, Berlin, Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, and Zurich, and was an adjunct professor of empirical cultural studies at the University of Tübingen. His research focuses on the history of mass culture since the nineteenth century, popular arts, Americanization, and aesthetic experience in everyday life. His publications include *Die Kinder der Massenkultur. Kontroversen um Schmutz und Schund seit dem Kaiserreich* (2012).
