Joy Denalane

Joy Denalane (born 1973 in West Berlin) is a German singer. Soul, jazz and funk shaped her musical interests from childhood onward. With her debut album, “Mamani,” she became one of the first Black German pop artists to address her Afro-diasporic heritage in her music. She later became the first German artist to release an album on the legendary U.S. soul label Motown, with “Let Yourself Be Loved.”
