John August

John August, born in Colorado in 1970, is an American screenwriter and journalist. His best-known work includes the film adaptation of “Big Fish,” the remake of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” and the screenplays for “Corpse Bride,” “Dark Shadows,” and “Frankenweenie,” made in collaboration with Tim Burton. “Arlo Finch” marked his debut as a children’s author.
