Joel Sartore

Joel Sartore, born in 1962 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, is a photographer, journalist, author, and conservationist. He became known in part through his long-standing work for National Geographic magazine. Sartore founded the Photo Ark project, for which he photographs animals in human care to draw attention to threatened biodiversity and the protection of their habitats.
