Joe R. Lansdale, born in Texas in 1951, is an American writer. He has written novels, short stories and comic scripts in a range of genres, including crime, horror, science fiction, western and fantasy. He is particularly known for the Hap Collins and Leonard Pine crime series, which was also adapted for television. Lansdale has received several awards, including the Edgar Award, the American Mystery Award, the British Fantasy Award and multiple Bram Stoker Awards from the Horror Writers Association.
