Jewgeni Petrow

Yevgeny Petrov (1903–1942) was a Soviet journalist and writer. In the 1920s, he worked with Ilya Ilf for various satirical newspapers; Mikhail Bulgakov and Yury Olesha were also part of their journalistic milieu. As a writing duo, Ilf and Petrov published the novels *The Twelve Chairs* (1928) and *The Little Golden Calf, or The Hunt for the Million* (1931), as well as stories and feuilletons. An asteroid discovered in 1982 was named 3668 IlfPetrov after the duo.
