Ilja Ilf

Ilja Ilf (1897–1937) was a Soviet journalist and writer. In the 1920s, he worked with Yevgeny Petrov for various satirical newspapers. Together they wrote the novels The Twelve Chairs (1928) and The Golden Calf, or The Hunt for the Million (1931), as well as short stories and feuilletons. A minor planet discovered in 1982 was named 3668 IlfPetrov after the literary duo.
