Jens Kersten (born in 1967 in Marburg an der Lahn, Germany) is a legal scholar and professor of public law and administrative sciences. He taught at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich from 2008 onward. From 2012 to 2013, he was Carson Professor at the university’s Rachel Carson Center for Environment and Society. His research has included administrative, constitutional and European law, the relationship between humans and nature in the Anthropocene, and digital governance and democracy.
