Jakob Kirchmayr

Jakob Kirchmayr, born in Innsbruck in 1975, is an Austrian artist and illustrator. He attended the HTL for Painting and Graphic Arts in Innsbruck and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1993 to 1999. Kirchmayr illustrated books in various genres for international publishers and collaborated, among others, with Tyrolia Verlag. His notable works include collections of legends from Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Vienna, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Carinthia, and Lower Austria. Tiroler Sagen was awarded Austria’s “Most Beautiful Book” in the children’s and young adult category in 2006.
