Helmut Wittmann

Helmut Wittmann (born 1959) is a storyteller and author. For several decades, he worked professionally as a storyteller and devoted himself to regional oral traditions. In 2003, he received the German Folk Storyteller Award (Deutscher Volkserzählerpreis). His publications include “Salzburger Sagen” and “Das Donausteig-Sagenbuch.” He has said that his fascination with oriental Sufi stories led him to storytelling.
