Iwan Bunin

Ivan Bunin (1870–1953) was a Russian writer and poet. Born in Voronezh, he emigrated to France in 1920. In 1933, he became the first Russian writer to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. His best-known works include the novellas “The Gentleman from San Francisco” (1915) and “Mitya’s Love” (1925). Bunin died in French exile in 1953.
