Ilona Einwohlt (born 1968) studied German, Romance languages and literatures, and children’s and young adult literature in Frankfurt and Granada. After working in various publishing houses, she turned to writing and published numerous books for children and young adults. She became particularly known for advisory novels for girls and books about puberty, sex education, and self-confidence. Her works include the “Sina” series and Mein Pickel und ich. Einwohlt originally intended to become a nutritionist; while attending a chemistry lecture, she decided to study literature after reading Simone de Beauvoir, Julio Cortázar, and Thomas Mann.
