Kathrin Schrocke

Kathrin Schrocke was born in Augsburg in 1975. She studied German and psychology in Bamberg and completed a two-year distance-learning course in children’s and young adult literature at STUBE in Vienna. She subsequently worked in publishing and adult education before becoming a freelance author in 2003. Her work includes realistic young adult novels such as *Freak City*, *Immer kommt mir das Leben dazwischen* and *Weiße Tränen*, as well as short stories and plays for adults. Her literary work has received awards including the Criminale Short Story Prize, the Dillinger Cultural Prize and a recognition award from the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs.
