Hubert Kiesewetter (born 1939) studied economics, history, philosophy and the philosophy of science in Frankfurt am Main, Kiel, London and Heidelberg. He received his doctorate in Heidelberg in the early 1970s and completed his habilitation at the Free University of Berlin in 1985. In 1987–88, he was Konrad Adenauer Professor at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. From 1990 until his retirement in 2004, he taught economic and social history at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt. His research focused on German, European and international industrialization, regional analysis, the theory of science and philosophy.
