Hermann Hirsch (born 1993) is a German photographer and author. After completing an apprenticeship as a carpenter, he turned nature photography into his profession. He discovered nature photography in 2008 and has focused on animals and overlooked habitats, including those in urban environments. In 2012, Hirsch took second place in the European Nature Photographer of the Year competition in the Birds category, and in 2013 he was named German Nature Photographer of the Year by the German Society for Nature Photography. He also won the GDT Nature Photographer of the Year competition and the Fritz Pölking Prize in the youth category. His photographs have appeared in books and magazines. He is a co-author of the textbook “Gute Fotos, harte Arbeit – Wege zum perfekten Naturfoto” (“Good Photos, Hard Work – Paths to the Perfect Nature Photograph”).
