Helmut Scheffel

Helmut Scheffel (1925–2010) was born in Gera and died in Frankfurt am Main. He studied philosophy, sociology and Romance studies in Frankfurt and Paris. From 1957 onward, he worked as a freelance translator and writer, and later also served as an editor at the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
