Hans Christian Oeser

Hans-Christian Oeser, born in Wiesbaden in 1950, is a literary translator, editor, and author. He translated numerous works from English, including books by Mark Twain, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ian McEwan, Maeve Brennan, Anne Enright, John McGahern, and Sebastian Barry. In 2010, he received the Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt Prize for his life’s work. In 2020, he was awarded the Straelen Translator’s Prize by the Cultural Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia.
