Ian McEwan

Ian McEwan, born in 1948 in Aldershot, Hampshire, is a British author. His notable novels include *Atonement*, *On Chesil Beach* and *The Children Act*, as well as numerous other works that have been adapted for film. He received the Booker Prize in 1998 and the Shakespeare Prize of the Alfred Toepfer Foundation in 1999. He was also awarded the Goethe Medal.
