Hans Andree

Hans Andree (born 1937) was a professor of typography at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg. He produced free and applied artistic works as well as publications. His books include “Schwabacher Judenlettern. Funktionalisierte Schrift-Bilder” (1998), “Das letzte Relikt Gutenbergs” (2003), “Illustrierter Don Quijote. Blick auf Ausgaben aus drei Jahrhunderten” (2005), and “Zur Lesbarkeit von Büchern” (1995–2005), a comparison of commonly used reading typefaces.
