Gunther Nickel (born 1961) is a German literary scholar and editor. He worked as an editor for the German Literature Fund in Darmstadt and taught modern German literary history at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. As an author and editor, he published numerous books and essays on German literature from the 18th century to the present.
