Grazia Deledda

Grazia Deledda (1871–1936) was an Italian writer. Originally from Sardinia, she began publishing stories, poems, and novels in 1886. Her work frequently portrays life on the island, its landscapes, customs, and religious traditions. Many of her novels and stories explore conflicts involving honor, faith, and social prejudice, often with women at the center. In 1926, Deledda was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
