Gitte Spee

Gitte Spee was born in Surabaya, Indonesia, in 1950 and moved to the Netherlands with her family as a child. She studied illustration at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. From 1983 onward, she worked as a children’s author and illustrator, illustrating books for international publishers, including Dutch, German, English, and French children’s books.
