Simone Frieling (born 1957 in Wuppertal) is a German author and painter. She has published short stories, novels, essays, and anthologies. In 1998, she received the Martha Saalfeld Prize. Her works include the novel “Mitten im Leben” (2006), “Im Zimmer meines Lebens” (2010), a collection of biographical portraits of women writers, “Im Namen der Rosen” (2012), “Ausgezeichnete Frauen. Die Nobelpreisträgerinnen für Literatur” (2016), and “Rebellinnen. Hannah Arendt, Rosa Luxemburg und Simone Weil.” Her oil paintings, pastels, and watercolors, created since the 1980s, have been shown in exhibitions.
