Franziska Neubert (b. 1977) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. She subsequently completed a postgraduate Meisterschüler course at the Leipzig academy. Her final project received the Ars Lipsiensis recognition award. Her work has been exhibited in Germany and abroad and has received several awards. The volume The Peony Lantern by Sanyutei Enchō, which she illustrated, was named one of the “Best German Books” in 2020.
