She gained wider recognition with the multiple award-winning comic series »Saga«, which she co-created with writer Brian K. Vaughan. Staples cited fantasy books from her childhood as an important influence on her creative work, including Brian Jacques’s »Redwall« series and George MacDonald’s »The Princess and the Goblin«.
