Fabio Genovesi, born in Italy in 1974, grew up in the Tuscan seaside resort of Forte dei Marmi. Before turning to writing, he worked as a lifeguard, cycling coach, waiter and translator, among other jobs. He has published novels and essays since 2011 and has also written screenplays. His literary work has received the prestigious Premio Viareggio. His books include The Summer We Invented Our Lives Again and The Message of the Giant Squid.
