Fabienne Liptay

Fabienne Liptay (born 1974) studied film studies, English and theatre studies at the University of Mainz. She received her doctorate in film studies in 2002 with a study of fairy-tale films and subsequently worked as a research associate in Mainz until 2007. She then served as a junior professor of film history at LMU Munich and became a professor of film studies at the University of Zurich. Her research focuses on the aesthetics, history and theory of film, particularly film imagery and narrative theory, as well as the relationships between film, visual media and other arts.
