Eva Ruth Wemme

Eva Ruth Wemme (born 1973 in Paderborn, Germany) studied Romanian studies, German studies, philosophy and musicology in Cologne, Berlin and Bucharest. After working in theatre, she pursued a career as an author and translator from Romanian. Her translations include works by Mircea Cărtărescu, Gabriela Adameșteanu, Nora Iuga, Ioana Nicolaie, T. O. Bobe and Nicoleta Esinencu. In 2019, she received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for Translation for her translation of Adameșteanu’s novel *The Lost Morning*.
