Adrian Schiop was born in 1973 in Porumbacu de Jos, in Sibiu County. He studied psychology, education and linguistics in Cluj-Napoca and earned a doctorate in anthropology in Bucharest. Before working as a writer and screenwriter, he was active as a teacher, painter and journalist. Schiop has published four autofictional novels and a book of poetry. “Soldiers. Story from Ferentari” was his first novel to appear in German translation.
