Erik Spiekermann

Erik Spiekermann (born 1947) is a German designer, type designer, and information architect. His best-known typefaces include FF Meta, FF Meta Serif, ITC Officina, FF Info, and FF Unit. In 1979 he founded MetaDesign, and in 1989 he co-founded FontShop, a company specializing in digital fonts. He also wrote numerous books and articles on type and typography. His type designs are held in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Spiekermann has received numerous awards for his lifetime achievements.
