Enki Bilal

Enki Bilal, born in Belgrade in 1951, is a comics artist and filmmaker. He has published comics since the early 1970s, including works created with the scenarist Pierre Christin. His comics include politically themed thrillers and dystopian stories. Bilal’s work has received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in 1987. From the late 1980s onward, he also directed films such as “Bunker Palace Hotel,” starring Jean-Louis Trintignant, “Tykho Moon,” and “Immortal: New York 2095 – The Return of the Gods.” A computer game was also developed based on his character Alexander Nikopol.
