Elizabeth Taylor

Elizabeth Taylor (1912–1975) was an English writer. She was born in Reading and published her first novel, *At Mrs Lippincote’s*, in 1945. She went on to write eleven further novels, a children’s book and short stories. Her work focused chiefly on the facets of everyday life. Her notable novels include *A View of the Harbour*, *A Game of Hide and Seek*, *Angel* and *Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont*. Her novel *Angel* was adapted for film by François Ozon in 2007.
