Elisabeth Fischer studied sociology before becoming a chef and co-owner of the vegetarian restaurant Keyno in Munich in 1982. She published her first cookbook in 1987. After moving to Vienna in 1989, she focused on writing cookbooks and nutrition guides, developing recipes for gourmet and women’s magazines, and working as a food stylist. She published more than 40 books, particularly on vegetarian, vegan and alkaline cuisine, and also taught cooking workshops and seminars on healthy nutrition. Her career path from sociology through gastronomy to cookbook writing is a distinctive feature of her professional biography.
