Elina Baumbach

Elina Baumbach, born in Berlin in 1981, worked for several years as an English teacher in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. She studied American Studies/English and Art History at the University of Augsburg, earning a bachelor’s degree, and completed a master’s degree in Literary Translation at LMU Munich. From 2019 onward, she worked as a freelance literary translator and as a translation lecturer at the University of Passau. In 2020, she received the Bavarian State’s “Junge Kunst & Neue Wege” scholarship for her work on Sarah Winman’s Lichte Tage.
