Nicholas Blake

Nicholas Blake was the pseudonym of the Irish-British writer Cecil Day-Lewis (1904–1972). Day-Lewis was an academic, worked for a time at the London publishing house Chatto & Windus, and wrote psychological crime novels under the pseudonym. He was later appointed Poet Laureate by the British Queen. He was also the father of actor Daniel Day-Lewis.
