Ed Ruscha

Ed Ruscha was born in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1937, and grew up in Oklahoma. He moved to Los Angeles in 1956 and studied at the Chouinard Art Institute from 1956 to 1960. As an artist, he achieved international recognition; his work was exhibited worldwide and entered major museums and private collections. Ruscha participated in four documenta exhibitions and was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
