Eckhard Jesse

Eckhard Jesse (born 1948), who holds a doctorate and habilitation in political science, was Professor of Political Science at Chemnitz University of Technology from 1993 to 2014, where he held the chair of Political Systems and Political Institutions. From 1989 onward, he was among the editors of the yearbook Extremismus und Demokratie. His numerous publications include studies of democracy in the Federal Republic of Germany, totalitarianism in the 20th century, and extremism in Germany.
