Dominik Markl, born in 1979 in Innsbruck, Austria, is a Jesuit and biblical scholar. He studied theology in Innsbruck and Jerusalem and has taught, among other places, at Heythrop College of the University of London, Hekima College in Nairobi, the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, and institutions in Rome and Washington, D.C. His scholarly interests include the Hebrew Bible, or Old Testament, the religious history of monotheism, political intellectual history, trauma theory, and discourses on mass violence and the Holocaust.
