Dieter Grimm

Dieter Grimm (born 1937) is a German jurist and constitutional scholar. From 1979 to 1999, he taught public law at Bielefeld University; from 1987 to 1999, he served as a judge on the Federal Constitutional Court. He subsequently held a professorship in public law at Humboldt University of Berlin and also taught at Yale Law School. From 2001 to 2007, he was rector of the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin, where he later became a permanent fellow. His publications include German Constitutional History, 1776–1866, The Future of the Constitution, and Europe—Yes, but Which One?
