David Marquez was born in London and grew up in Norway, Scotland, and Texas. After working on the partly animated film adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s novel „A Scanner Darkly“, he made his comics debut as an artist in 2010 with the graphic novel „Syndrome“, written by R. J. Ryan. In 2012, „Fantastic Four: Season One“ by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, which Marquez illustrated, reached the New York Times bestseller list. He subsequently worked on comics featuring Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Iron Man, the X-Men, „Civil War II“, „Defenders“, „Justice League“, and „Avengers“, among others. In 2023, he served as both writer and artist on „The Unchosen“, his first digital comic under his own name. Marquez was nominated for an Eisner Award.
