David Gerrold

David Gerrold, born in 1944 in Chicago as Jerrold David Friedmann, is an American author and screenwriter. He studied theater in Los Angeles and earned a B.A. in 1967. He became known in part for his work on the television series »Star Trek«: his idea for the episode »The Trouble with Tribbles« was nominated for a Hugo Award and the episode is regarded as one of the series’ best-known. Gerrold has published science-fiction and fantasy novels as well as short stories, and co-wrote the novel »The Flying Sorcerers« with Larry Niven. Other notable works include »When HARLIE Was One«, »The Man Who Folded Himself« and the Chtorr cycle.
