Claudia Schedlich is a graduate psychologist and licensed psychological psychotherapist. She studied psychology in Cologne and completed her psychotherapeutic training in Bonn. Since 1989, her professional and academic work has focused on psychotraumatology. Her career has included clinical work at the Dr. von Ehrenwall Clinic in Ahrweiler, research at the University of Cologne’s Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and work at the School Psychological Counseling Service of the City of Düsseldorf. From 2007 to 2019, she worked in the Psychosocial Crisis Management unit of Germany’s Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance. She also contributed to international, European Union-funded research projects on psychosocial emergency care in complex emergencies, including terrorist attacks, school shootings and natural disasters.
