Christian Welzbacher (born 1970) is an art historian, author, exhibition curator and translator. He has published on architecture, cultural policy, the decorative arts, museum theory and twentieth-century culture. His works include “Bobby. Requiem für einen Gorilla,” a book about a gorilla. He has received several awards, including the Theodor Fischer Prize from the Central Institute for Art History and the Critics’ Advancement Award from the Federal Chamber of German Architects. As a freelance journalist, he has written for publications including the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and Die Zeit.
