Christian Loidl (1957, Linz–2001, Vienna) was an Austrian poet, prose writer, translator and performance artist. After studying German and psychology, he worked as a freelance poet. His work includes experimental poetry, prose, radio contributions and translations. His publications include the poetry collections “weisse rede,” “falsche prophezeiungen,” “farnblüte” and “pupille,” as well as the prose work “Wiener Mysterien” and the experimental text “ICHT.” Loidl was a co-founder of the School for Poetry in Vienna and performed at international poetry festivals in Europe and Latin America. He also collaborated repeatedly with musicians. A collection of his poetry, edited by Eva Lavric, was published by Klever Verlag in 2011.
