Christel Hildebrandt

Christel Hildebrandt (born 1952) studied German and sociology and earned a doctorate in German literary studies. In 1988, she began translating from Norwegian, Danish, Swedish, and Faroese. Authors whose works she translated include Lars Saabye Christensen, Håkan Nesser, Henrik Ibsen, August Strindberg, Dan Turèll, and Maria Parr. She also co-edited several Nordic anthologies, often with Gabriele Haefs and Dagmar Mißfeldt.
