Chinelo Okparanta

Chinelo Okparanta was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and emigrated to the United States with her family at the age of ten, where she studied. Her debut novel, “Under the Udala Trees,” was published in 2015 and shortlisted for the 2017 International Dublin Literary Award. Okparanta taught creative writing at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, USA.
